Week 5 Post 1: Target Market Sites
I chose the two sites on diapering children.
Econobum.com
It would seem they are geared towards parents who want fabric, washable diapers and who probably care a lot about the environment and waste, while also wanting to save money on the high cost of cloth diapering. My basic observations about demographics would be females in their 30's, possibly parents with higher income. Psychographics I see are health conscious parents, and parents who like easy directions (the pre folded). Calls to action were to find a store, and to read article on being new to cloth diapering. Their website design was very minimalistic, representing a "clean" and "natural" feeling like the fabric diapers they're selling. The overall tone was natural, easy, great quality and inexpensive.
justcheapdiapers.com
Justcheapdiapers.com was geared towards parents who want inexpensive bulk diapers in the Philippines. My basic observations of the demographics are women in the Philippines, possibly parents with lower income, parents with multiples. Basic psychographics of Just Cheap Diapers tells me these are parents who are looking to save money, and who want to pay for bulk. In conclusion the calls to action were to save money by joining a monthly subscription club to save money on the diapers. Their website design was simple but fun in color and conveyed the message of fun and inexpensive to me.The overall tone and message of the site was relational to parents looking for bulk diapers that were good for baby and would save them money.
Obvious differences that stand out to me right away were the race of the children shown, the colors and design of the econobum was more simple and geared towards a more "natural" look. The name Just Cheap Diapers was very clear what I was looking at. A crossover I noticed was that both sites did gear towards "best" materials for baby, and for buying in bulk options, as well as more affordable for each type. In conclusion the overall tones were quite different in aesthetic and target market, but similar in wanting best quality and price for their children.
