WEEK 8: Post 2
Visual support. It matters to me when I'm looking at businesses, in some cases it can make or break my decisions with them. I definitely think visuals will work with my business because it is just a fact backed by many tests that people want visual content! So I feel I must make it work. I did research on 4 businesses that are similar to mine, taking from the list of pages we needed we follow. Here is my feedback on their visual ideas, what I think is effective and how active they are:
1. Social Media Club
On their Facebook page they're sharing a variety of images from virtual reality to President Trump. That definitely catches the eye and attention. They have a large following of over 64K even though they don't post that often! There was posting done in Feb. May, June and then their last post was October 4, 2017. They could improve with posting more consistently, however they get a lot of likes on the few posts they've done this year! Makes me wonder how they got to 64k! I'm wondering if it's the name.....
2. Sue B. Zimmerman
With over 14K followers on her Facebook she's fun to watch. Her content is helpful, colorful, simple and attractive. Great videos too. She is posting almost daily. I like how she took advantage of the "Pin to top of page" feature with a relaxing but encouraging video! Her last post was October 12, 2017. She has steady sharing, commenting and liking on her posts. I don't see a lot she could improve on! I like her balance of posts and content.
3. Krishna De
Krishna shares almost solely video content. I like that! It's the lazy learners go to! It's also visually simple and they videos aren't too long. She is posting every other day and also shares her Pinterest pins! I like this idea as a way to get people to your Pinterest page! I didn't even know I could do that! Her last post was 10 am Oct. 15, 2017. I think she's doing pretty well with content, but it seems interaction is hit and miss. Not as good as I would expect with over 5K followers. She could maybe improve by NOT posting so much. Perhaps it's overwhelming information.
4. Social Media Today
A great page on Facebook with over 500K followers. They're posting almost daily, hourly in some cases! With all their visuals I don't feel confused as to what the topic is. It's also not so wordy that I scroll right by. They're bright and straight forward. They're getting a lot of shares and likes on their posts which tells me people are interested and interacting with their content. Their last post was at 3:30 pm Oct. 15, 2017. They could improve by sharing more video.
I think what I see overall is that I have A LOT to learn! Great assignment and really makes me think about the direction I want to go and also how I really drives home how much I need to get to know my audience!
