Week 8: Post 1

Who else loved the okdork article on why content goes viral?! Visuals are so important with any business, it would be hard to find one that doesn't need it! I hope that my business with social media consultations will thrive into something more.  I think it's a basic necessity that I know visuals well from how to access them legally, to what works best for each platform. I honestly think that each of the 8 platforms shared about can be worked with almost any business if you're creative enough. Or your creative team is at least! So I'm decided to share how I could possibly make all 8 work for my business:

Who can't work with Facebook?! The master of all. Video, visuals, verbiage, you can do it all.  This is a no brainer for my business. In fact, if you haven't yet, take a look at my page here and give me some feedback!  Another obvious choice due to the massive amount of users across the globe and the options to network and share my business farther.

2. Twitter
Again, not sure how this could NOT work for most businesses.  I think with a social media consultation, if I can get my point across in the 140 limited characters I get, along with properly sized images for TW, there isn't any reason I wouldn't want to also use it as well. I do agree though that making time to create content is necessary. In this business I would be quickly be considered "outdated" if I didn't stay on top of my channel with new content! No one wants to see a business that is supposed to know social media, not have a video posted in months or even years!

3. YouTube
I think this would be a great place to share fun and interactive how to's for social media! I know I've referenced YouTube when not in the mood to really read much.  Definitely a must have for my business. Especially knowing video is the go to now more and more.

4. Google+
I admit I am not very familiar with Google+ and it seems odd to me that it is so active after all it seems! I gives me the impression it would be a good resource for networking one on one. Especially if we're connecting via Gmail after all. Visuals on here are something that probably isn't such a big deal. But I think I would create simple infographs and or images with wording on it, to get my point across visually without any extra verbiage attached.

5. Instagram
The visual king! Who even really reads the words on Instagram? I know I don't. So if I took my social media consulation to Instagram I would focus on short, fun 1 min. videos about my business, or how to's. I would again also submit infographs, and images that contain words themselves. Also making sure to use popular searchable #hashtags

6.Tumblr
I have never used Tumblr. Ever. Except having been sent there by a link to see an image.  This would take some educating, but if it's basic uses are images, video, audio and text, again, I can't see why I wouldn't want to utilize every platform!

7. Pinterest
This one is tricky to me. With a social media consulting business, I don't exactly have "content" thats all together visually fun and interesting. BUT I can MAKE it be that way! A lot of people don't just Pinterest DIY and home ideas, they're also keeping boards for personal business, or learning. I think if I could create a draw for "self learning" and again, offer how to's and fun inforgraphs, maybe some fun #mondaymotivation and #fridayfeeling memes I could draw some interest.

8. Snapchat
With limited time to share "snaps" with the world, it may be a fun way to challenge my business. I would need to fine tune what people want and need in a brief and fun way. Creating snaps that are interesting, again with how to's and some fun content that would draw an audience. A lot of people are so active on social media they're looking to know and do more with it.
