Week 6 Post 1
1. Define the difference between post reach and post engagement.
A post reach is simply how many people have your post content go by in their feed. There is no interaction (clicks, likes etc) on your post. When you see a post but scroll right by it without doing anything, thats a post reach to you!
Post engagement is the result of actual interaction with your post. If you clicked the link, if you "liked" the post, if you shared the post, tagged someone in the post etc.
2. Why is knowing the difference important?
Knowing the difference is really important for properly analyzing the results of your content. If you're reaching people or interacting with people. Whether or not they like what your giving them. You can also see how far your posts are going with reach, which can help determine the ratio of reach to interaction and again, whether or not you're providing wanted content.
3. How can a business use Facebook Insights to better serve their customers?
For the business I want to use (social media consultation) I can access the post insights for my clients and review the engagement and reach. I can determine if it's verbiage, images, etc. and be able to try new things based on the results I'm getting. I can see what days my posts do best on, what times they do best at. I can see the age and gender of my audience which would help me determine what I'm posting and what words and offers to use. I can move dates and times around according to the people I want to reach. I can see the top locations my posts are reaching, and this too can help me determine what kind of content to share, or if I want to change the content to reach a different area.
